Every Gold Coast suburb: share of residential lots in the 2026 flood risk classes
Suburbs with at least 50 residential lots, sorted by the share in a risk class. Click a column heading to sort. The Council's flood maps page describes the Maximum Regional Flood Extent as the outer boundary of the floodplain for very rare to extreme floods, which can include any level of hazard; it is shown separately because it covers 32% of residential lots.

Suburbs with fewer than 50 residential lots
Shown, not ranked: with so few lots one lot moves the share a long way.

How the shares are made, and what they cannot tell you
- Lots, not homes. Every land lot in the Queensland cadastre (DCDB), one per lot/plan; common property of a unit scheme is dropped unless it is the only lot (the land under an apartment building). A Surfers Paradise tower counts as one lot.
- Residential lots are lots whose centre point is in a City Plan low, medium or high density residential or rural residential zone. Homes in Centre, Mixed use, Township or Emerging community zones are not counted.
- In a class means the lot's centre point lies in that class on the Council's 2026 flood risk awareness map; a lot in two classes counts in the highest. A lot only partly covered can count either way.
- Risk, not history. The Council combines how likely a flood is with how hazardous it would be. The map does not say a lot has flooded before, and no map can promise that a home will or will not flood.
- Checked. Every layer was compared with the Council's live map service at sample lots in Coomera, Pimpama, Oxenford, Southport and Mermaid Waters and at 100 random lots: all agreed.
