Where PropertyCheck data comes from
PropertyCheck brings together information from government, council and other data sources to help you understand a Gold Coast property before you rent or buy. We show the source and data date where available, and say when something cannot be verified instead of guessing.
Property and planning
Property boundaries, planning zones and related planning context use City of Gold Coast City Plan open data.
Flood and bushfire
Flood and bushfire information uses City of Gold Coast hazard and risk mapping, including the relevant City Plan overlays and current risk-map datasets used by PropertyCheck.
Land use
Land-use information comes from Queensland Government spatial open data.
Schools
School catchment information uses Queensland Government school catchment data. Some local school-street context also uses open mapping and City of Gold Coast transport and street datasets.
Safety and reported crime
Safety information uses Queensland Police reported offence data together with police-division geography. Crime information is area-level reported data and is not a prediction about a particular property.
Traffic and roads
Traffic information uses Transport and Main Roads Queensland open traffic data and, where relevant, City of Gold Coast traffic-count and road information. Traffic volume describes measured vehicle activity; it is not the same thing as travel delay or congestion time.
Public transport and roadworks
Public-transport stop information uses Translink data. Roadworks information uses Queensland Traffic information for relevant Gold Coast locations.
How we handle uncertain information
Different sources update on different schedules and can contain gaps. A source being available does not automatically mean every field is current or verified. Where PropertyCheck cannot establish a usable answer, the report shows “Not verified” rather than inventing one.
Data dates
Where the source provides a usable date, PropertyCheck carries that source date into the report. We distinguish the period that data describes from the date a dataset was published or updated.
What this does not replace
PropertyCheck is general property information. It is not a building or pest inspection, legal or financial advice, a valuation, or a recommendation to rent or buy. Important decisions should be checked with the relevant authority or a qualified professional.
